Questions
The things people ask before they send work.
If the answer you need is not here, call the shop. Somebody who does the work will pick up.
General
- Do you offer DTG as well as DTF printing?
- Yes. DTG prints directly onto suitable garments, while DTF uses a heat-applied film transfer. Send your artwork, garment style and quantity so we can recommend an option.
- What does digitalboutique.ink actually do?
- DTG printing, DTF transfer printing, contract embroidery, in-house digitizing, monogramming and personalization, appliqué, custom patches, flags and banners, and heat-seal lettering.
- Do you sell to the public?
- Primarily we work for the trade — distributors, uniform suppliers, screen printers and other decorators. We do take retail and one-off work; call the shop and ask.
- Do you print as well as embroider?
- Yes. We offer DTG direct-to-garment printing, DTF transfer printing and embroidery. We help match the method to your artwork, fabric and quantity. A single order can run printed and stitched decoration together, with one approval and one carton.
Trade & accounts
- Can you ship under my company name?
- Yes. Blind-label shipping puts your company name and return address on the carton and the packing list, with your paperwork inside. It is set once on your trade account and applies to every order after that.
- Where is your wholesale price list?
- It is not published. Wholesale pricing goes to approved trade accounts through the portal — putting it on the open web would put your margin there too.
- Do you give ASI-member discounts?
- Yes. Distributors carrying an ASI number get ASI-member pricing here, even though we are not ASI members ourselves. Put the number on your trade account application.
- How do I get a trade account?
- Call the shop and ask for whoever handles contract work. Accounts are set up by hand after a short conversation about what you decorate and roughly what volume you run.
- Will you work for another embroidery shop?
- Regularly. Overflow and capacity work for other embroiderers and monogrammers is a standing part of the business, and blind shipping exists precisely for it.
Artwork & digitizing
- What file formats do you accept?
- AI, EPS, PDF, SVG, PNG and JPG for artwork, and DST or EMB if the design is already digitized. Vector artwork gives the cleanest result. The artwork guide covers the detail.
- Can I send my own digitized file?
- Yes. Send the DST or EMB with a note about the garment it was digitized for. We sew a swatch before committing your goods, and we will tell you if we can see it is going to give you trouble.
- Who owns the digitized file?
- You do. Files we digitize for you are stored under a design number with the size, fabric and placement recorded, so a reorder is a phone call rather than a re-quote.
Production & shipping
- Do I get to see it before you run the whole order?
- Yes. Every new design is sewn out on the same fabric you are running and sent for approval before a production piece is hooped. That is the point at which density, pull compensation and thread choice get corrected.
- Can I supply my own garments?
- Yes, and most of our customers do. Ship blanks to our dock or have your supplier drop-ship them here. We count them in against your paperwork and report any shortage the day it lands.
- Can you drop-ship to my customer?
- Yes, under your name and return address. Give us the ship-to details with the order.
